Following the success of previously completed projects, Diamond Build Group Ltd (specialists in public sector construction and fire safety solutions), appointed Sanper Construction LTD to undertake the awarded painting and decoration package during the full refurbishment of Bramley Oak School Primary school. A special school for boys aged 5-11 years with social, emotional and mental health needs

Project brief
Our brief was clear, to carry out all painting and decorating work to the school during its refurbishment, this includes but is not limited to, sanding and filling, caulking and other general preparation work, mist coats and two full coats of their chosen Dulux paint colours in each room to all 7500m2 of walls and 3500lm of woodwork.
All work was to be carried out by operatives holding an enhanced DBS and CSCS due to the safeguarding of the school, which is in full use during the work.

Difficulties and Challenges
As the school must remain operational during the refurbishment, the work has been divided into phases. Each phase can only commence once the last phase is complete to ensure as little disruption to the schools’ timetables and the children’s routines as possible.
As the project progresses, invariably other trades for one reason or another elapse their program, these in turn pass the risk of schedule creep to Sanper, as the date and the phases when they are handed over are non-negotiable. To minimise the risk, we have tried to ensure the Diamond Build update and distribute their live program to our project team so we can be reactive to the amount of labour we might require should our schedule be reduced.
